Default Skid plate anyone?..

Does anyone have this on their XC60/XC90/V90 CC? (apparently, it's a same plate for all SPA cars..)

My understanding is that it's permanently bolted to the frame and it has an opening for oil drainage. It seems a bit pricey (upwards of €300 + installation - and from I've been able to see it's not a DIY as there's some special tools involved..) but in any case it seems cheaper than replacing the oil pan.. Clearly an XC60 is not a hard offroader - but I do occasionally venture off tarmac and I'm thinking it might be worthwhile investing into something like this..

Also thought about having this fitted as I sometimes go offroad when visiting small holdings

Looks like you need to drill the chassis and then pivot the plate into place, not massively tricky but not sure I would want to be drilling the chassis as I can see there may be all sort of warranty issues there. Shame they are no predrilled to take them.

Yeah, I don't like the fact that there's drilling involved- only because of possible corrosion around the drilled points. This being an OEM piece, dealer-installed- I don't think it may affect the manufacturer's warranty..

Surprised to see that no one on the forum has one of these installed..

The warranty comment was more if someone got just the part and did a DIY. Agreed if they install it then everything should be fully supported.
