Default 2014 S60 D4 VEA engine.

Hi,

I've got a few questions about the above vehicle I'm hoping you experienced Volvo people will be able to answer.
1. The car has now done 140,000 miles and I am planning on changing the timing belt soon. I have changed a few timing belts in the past but never on Volvos. Is there anything to look out for on this engine? Any dos and don'ts?
2. The recommended oil for this engine is 0w20 which I have always used but because of the millage I wonder if I should change to 5w 30. Has anyone any thoughts on this?
3. I've been hearing a lot about oil catch cans lately. Would this be a good or bad idea for me to fit one of these.
Appreciate any advice you can give.

Andy.

Only one thing of note on the cambelt , The fuel pump must not move once you have all the timing marks set up , you loosen the 4 screws on the pump pulley half a turn , there is a locking pin goes in a hole to lock the pump pulley whilst you loosen and tighten the screws . , The idea is that as the belt moves when you tension it , the pump stays still as it's pulley moves slightly .. then when your timing marks line up again . tighten the 4 pump pulley screws ..

Oil must only be the new volvo specification 0w/20 VCC RBSO-2AE nothing else is approved … you have no need for any other oil , despite the mileage the tolerances are still going to be as new ..
Oil catch cans ? No , you will upset the breathing system, it is a sealed system ...
