VOC App now using Google Maps on iPhones

Has anyone noticed how the latest VOC App update v4.5.0 released on Friday has changed the Map content from Here over to Google Maps.
I think not only is this an excellent move but I hope it also marks the 1st stage of the transfer of Volvo’s Sat Nav Software to the Google Maps platform.....Roll on the next stage of this change over........

PS. I use an iPhone not an android device.

I am running 4.3.2 and it is showing Google map.

I am on 4.4.3 on iOS and it’s using apple maps, looks like it depends on the operating system.

I’m running 4.5 on iOS and can confirm I’m seeing Google maps in the VOC app. Looks like they’ve made the switch.

I doubt this is purely related to the App version, the changes are server side and I presume a gradual roll out

I wonder what practical difference this makes? I’d be surprised if any.

Not unless matched by a whole system update to existing cars to Android running on Chrome. I know that the next generation models will have this, but existing ones?

If you are referring to your iOS VoC app using google maps for the location of your car and the search facility for 'send to car', then this has been the case since version 4.x was released in mid May, see this thread.
