creaking at slow speeds
hi all,a friend of mine has just told me that her car makes a creaking sound from the front when driven at low speed ie when she is putting car in garage kinda speeds..any of you nice folk out there have any ideas what this could be?..

This one crops up quite a lot, so if you search through the forum you should find a good selection of ideas. Usually this kind of thing is simply a matter of lubricating the suspension components properly.

Yeah I agree, try using a silicone grease or lubricant on the antiroll bar bushes first, you didn't say what car she had (although perhaps the forum posted in might be a clue, but you never know) but this sort of problem happens on lots of cars.

Creaking Noises
This is happening to my 440 ('95 2.0 GLT) at the moment. If its the same noise, sort of a groaning creak that occurs both when the car bounces and when you are steering at low speed, then I think thats the anti-roll bar drop links. Each link has a ball & socket at each end which has to move when steering and bouncing. Wear and dryness causes them to make with the verbals! In the next few weeks I intend to overhaul all the front suspension components, so hopefully I'll have a nice quiet car again! Good luck, Sarumboy
