Default Locking wheel nut help ?

Hi Guys, I bought a 2011 S40 D3 in December and have been lucky with it so far until last weekend when I noticed a large screw sticking out of the front tyre, So went to local tyre place and they asked if I had a locking nut key, I said I didn't think it had them on, so he showed me and said I need to speak to Volvo dealer,
I phoned Rybrook Volvo in Warrington and they told me there should be a white card in the handbook ( there wasnt ) so they said I had to phone Mcgard in Germany, so I did that on Monday and they asked me to send pictures of the locking nut and they would send me a replacement for 18 euro, so I emailed them lots of pictures, but heard nothing back. I contacted them again today and they said it's not one of theirs, so I should contact Evo Automotive in Milton keynes, so I phoned them, but all they said was they can't speak to me and I had to go through my local Volvo dealer.

I phoned Rybrook back again and told them what had happened and they told me to phone their service department for a price to have them all cut off and a new set fitted.

I also tried another tyre place who has a tool for cutting off locking nuts, but even they said the kind I have their tool wont cut off, they suggested another garage, so I went there, they said it's £40 per hour, they will snap the spin part off then weld a bold on and try and get them off that way, but it will probably burn my alloy wheels and might also be some grinding marks on the wheels afterwards.

HELP !!! Surly there is a way to get a new locking nut key from somewhere so I don't have to have my wheels damaged ?
Any advice please guys ??? I am in Merseyside

HI
those are not McGard (volvo oem) nuts, thats true. No clue actually what those are, never seen this design before either. All 4 wheels has them?

I can only recommend you checking other tyre-specialised garages, seen few that has sets for removing any locking nuts (like 30-piece set that cost more than my alloys) and maybe someone will be able to take it off without damaging nut/stud/alloy.

Oh, thats interesting, looks nothing alike Mcgards that I had and seen on other S40/Vs . Maybe its the late FL model only or maybe those were meant for V70/S60 platforms only, not sure. My advice still stands (go around where tyre/wheel companies are and ask everywhere) or if not - go to Volvo dealer and tell them to deal with it. If its OEM it has to be somehow sorted by dealership, right? (...said without actual confidence in his voice...)

If the tyre starts going down use one of these kits until you get the wheel off and sorted properly.
Used a few times on my motorbike and a couple of times on a car tyre.

very poor service and advice there .
Firstly volvo changed their supplier in 2010 from Mc Guard to an Italian type which is much much more reliable , I know of none which have seized on yet . You have that type as your car as it is a 2011 model .

They should be well aware of the correct procedure , they have to order the master kit from volvo loan tools ( at no extra cost to themselves at all ) and it arrives a few days later , they pick the appropriate key and undo your wheel nuts , For security spare keys are not available . You then have to buy a new set . Don't get those on e-bay they are cheaper from the dealer ..
astonishing how a dealer can give advice like they did !

Apparently, these are the latest volvo security wheel nuts and replacement keys and not available, not even from Volvo as they do not know who the manufacturer is.

So lots of people are going to have trouble with used cars in the future as Volvo main dealers are supposed to have a master key for removing, them (Unless your near Warrington, as they don't have one)
