V60 Mk2: Tempa wheel question
Hi
My name is Chris and new to the forum. I've just taken delivery of a V60 mk2 (April 2019) not quite new it was a dealer ex demonstrator with 4K on the clock. As such I didn't get a chance to change it's spec. It has the Compressor kit in the boot and I'm not a fan... They do offer a Tempa replacement for £150 if you're buying from new. I'm finding it really difficult to identify the bits I'll need to swap it over and was wondering if there was a forum member out there who has a v60 mk2 with tempa from the factory? I found a picture on-line and a diagram of probable parts, see attached. But what size wheel do I need ? 125/80/17 or 125/80/18 even my dealer can't answer the question as they hadn't sold any with the tempa option. the V60 mk2 can have 18", 19" or 20" alloys, mine are 18". In one of the pictures I downloaded It looks like it's a 125/80/17. I Would really appreciate any assistance Thanks |

Your dealer is pants or not talking to the parts man. Are you dealing with the sales team or the technicians?
My parts man can easily tell from the part numbers what's available, if he doesn't know which bit it should be for a particular car he can check via vin number as what is listed and should be on your car, and confirm with volvo if nessesary. From what your dealer is saying they can never sell a car with the tempa spare as they would not know what to get and cannot be arsed finding out. I baught a second hand xc70 and as part of the deal the tin of gunk and compressor were exchanged for a temp a spare and the jack kit and foam inlay to store it. At that time the wheel was £114 to buy as the invoice to the dealer was in the car The 125/80/17 or 18, the 80 is the aspect ratio so 80% of 125 mm hight of tyre x2 plus the diameter of the rim either 17 or 18 inches will give you an overall diameter, measure what you have on the car and compare which is closest. Then check it will fit in the resess in the boot As an aside, I would never use the volvo scissor jack under the sill, I carry an hydraulic bottle jack and place under the wishbone so that it is only that wheel being lifted not the whole side of the car to full suspention drop before the wheel comes off the ground. Sooner dirty than dead. Paul. Last edited by green van man; Aug 21st, 2019 at 06:31. Reason: Extra info. |

Would think this is the same for 2019? Good place to start. This too. https://www.volvopartshop.com/storag...cc-16113-p.asp |

Hi Chris, welcome on board.
I share your lack of enthusiasm over the can of snot and compressor idea. Unfortunately I've no idea over the replacement but could I suggest you check out the 'Trader's Offers and Discounts' section of the forum, you'll find FRF Motors thread as a sticky at the top, it's now a very long thread so I'd suggest read the first post and then go to the last post and work back a bit to get the correct contact details (by phone), they offer a good discount to forum users and are also knowledgeable and helpful, I reckon they would be able to sort out what you need.

Hi Paul, Actually the problem is with Volvo!! I'm talking to two main dealer parts departments and they are being extremely helpful and are even liaising with their workshops. Unfortunately Volvo changed the spec of the Tempa wheel for the V60 mk2 and have not yet published detail of the parts on VIDA ( I assume this is the Volvo parts database). The dealers can order it as a factory option ( but they don't get any more detail than is in the pricelist £125 + vat). Neither dealer has yet had a customer who ordered the option and their showroom models don't have them either. The diagram I posted was from a US Volvo parts store who seem to be further ahead than the UK I found a Swedish web site who were suggesting that the wheel size was 125/80/R18, although the one in the picture I posted is a R17 Chris |
