Vida Fault codes
Hi Everyone, I got my vida dice working and I've got the following codes showing up in the attached file
The egr valve error happened when the car lost power and went into limp home mode so I think i need to take the valve off and clean it. Is there anything else I should do with egr valve? It shows a fault with MAF and intake manifold runner position. What does this mean and what is the best way to fix it? Do the faults with the glow plugs mean they are not working at all or are working partially? As for the other fault codes, where would I start to fix the LH indicator fault? All indicators are working fine Thanks in advance for your help |

Intake runner is the throttle swirl flaps and link rod need an overhaul that would account for the air mas flow too . If you have a problem with the EGR Valve that will also account for the Air mass flow problem , it is not the Air mass meter . A lot of the codes are not active in other words may have been repaired and the codes not cleared . Clear your codes and see what comes back ...

I recently had my car serviced & got a diagnostics print out. My car has the same "ECM P201500 Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor Switch" code too. I had a look under the bonnet & the connecting rod for the swirl flaps come loose & is just hanging there doing nothing at the moment!
Volvo sell the link rod for about £6 & I bought one yesterday. I'm not 100% sure if fitting the new rod will activate the swirl flaps though, as maybe they're just gunked up & the pressure of them trying to move into the open/close position broke the original link rod on my car in the first place. If not, then the swirl flaps will need replacing. I think you might be in a similar position to me, but eitherway, a new link rod won't go to waste if you do need new swirl flaps. I'm hoping just fitting the link rod works on mine, but I won't know until I try it at weekend.

What causes the link rod to fall off is all the road grit which gets in the socket , it grinds the ball and socket down so it falls out eventually .

Its quite a poor design really. You'd think Volvo would have put something more robust than a plastic rod with a ball on the end.
