Default 225/50/16 Summer tyres

Picked up a set of S80 alloys of the above size to use as a summer shoes on my V50, would they fit without rubbing issues, or would I need to buy a set of spacers also.

Getting them sandblasted and repainted 932 ANTHRACITE

205/55 R16 is the smallest OEM size. 225/50 R16 is almost exactly the same https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc...5r16-225-50r16
I would be really surprised if the extra 20mm width would give you clearance issues.

The offset of the new wheels will matter just as much as the tyre width. What is it?

Also, remember the hub centre bore is larger on the S80 so make sure you torque the wheel nuts in a star pattern with the wheels off the ground unless you've bought hub-centric rings.

That's just the width, no offset. They are half an inch wider than standard S40/V50/C30 16" wheels. It depends what the offset is as to whether they would fit or not. The offset should be on the inside of one of the spokes. For 16" wheels the correct spec they would be ET52.5.

Personally, I wouldn't just because the centre bore isn't right and offset likely to be off as well. I'd be sourcing the correct spec wheels for the car and the right tyre dimensions.
