I had a similar story all the other bits you think I should do at the same time while I have the engine out; timing gears, clutch etc etc.

Well, there's two engines. In 145: TT3, weber 38/38, stock head, simonz sport ex. PV 544: TT6, twin weber 45's, E head with stronger springs an thick gasket, side exit exhaust. And, ah, maybe stroker kit to 2.5, if enough in kitty.

Nice! Yeah engine building isn’t cheap. Will have a look at the TT6 specs, I built my Amazon with a slightly modified E head and a KG10 cam, probably could have gone for a more aggressive cam.

Ben said that, with tt6 an above, power starts at 2500 ish. Interestingly, he says go with B20a head for most states of tune, using thin or thick gaskets according to what comp u want. Only 2mm diff in inlet valve size, exhausts all same.

Rob at Amazon cars discusses his rally car engine builds, not porting the head but larger inlet valves and high compression ratio. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZJF2x8ybKw&t=13s

Just been told a 140 front suspension cross member will fit a PV with not much work. And the axle can be made to fit also.
