Default Can you lubricate the sat nav screen ?

Hi

Is it possible to lubricate the sat nav screen ?
When mine raises, it doesn't always sound very smooth.
I've noticed there's 2 channels on the back of the screen. I can't feel any teeth but was wondering if it's worth putting some Vaseline in them ?

Thanks.

Default Yes

Yes you can with special white silicon grease made for plastic or printers.
In Maplin you can find it too.
Will be better if you remove speaker cover, remove bolts and
rise complete RTI unit and than you can spot tooths where is
the best place to apply grease.
First blow with air dust and make some photos if you will do this
in right way. Thanks.

Instruction for how to remove RTI you can find here (installation one).

Thanks for the reply. Before I start taking it all apart, I have put some grease in the 2 channels with an ear bud.
It does seem smoother so I'll monitor it for a while and see if it has been solved.
Thanks again
