Default replacing a single liner ? can it be done ?

Hi as above, has anyone done or heard of replacing one liner ?
I have a st225 with a small hairline crack and a local engine builder/mechanist reckons he could pos bore out old liner and fit and bore out an after market liner for the max price of £200 (i have none him for over 20 years) .
I did intend on just buying a complete engine but would be doing the shim mod anyway for peace of mind so head would be coming of anyway and ontop of the gamble that the new engine is ok and the cost for an engine £1200 to £1800 i would be paying i would also have belt, gaskets, bolts, pullys etc so would be cheeper with a new bottom end or the new liner if it is possible

Yes you can replace single liners , but be very careful when you pull out the duff one . If you disturb any other , you will end up removing & fitting Orings to all liners . Experience of that with bloody renault's ,

Try these people if you need an exact replacement , look at the engines they provide spares for !

Also talk to these people
