engine system urgent service

Help just got timing belt kit and water pump fitted at garage . Now got message saying engine system urgent service. What could be cause of this going back to garage tomorrow. Ps new volvo owner.xc90 2010

Could be almost anything. The garage has obviously screwed up and need to read the DTCs

Garage got good rep done xc90 before. Engine Power ok speed ok just wanted to know if it had to be reset after work done.ta

Hoping should not to big a problem as car was running great before work done. Only had it 2 months 7 years old 53000 0n clock.

Did the work include an oil change?
If so, it may have been overfilled.

Hi thank you for message know did not include oil change. Got that done soon as bought car always do that no matter what garage says lol.

Just must be something to do with belt change as know warning message before that.

First fault battery on last legs diagnostic showed up 10 faults battery related new battery solved 9 0f them. Red warning turned out to be dpf sensor also did not help to much oil in engine. So back to normal wait and see lol.😊

I agree with cheshired5: it happened to us 24 hours before 2 weeks in France. Had just had a service and the problem was indeed overfilling with oil.

I just got my XC90 went to collect it swapped all stuff from old car into boot of XC90.
Left tail gate open doors open so went to start to come home battery flat...

Got jumped start got home fine ...2 days later battery flat jump start and all lights and faults turned up SRS... ANTI SKID...ENGINE SERVICE had around 20 fault codes ..kid you not the XC90 went into limp mode .. NO power to engine.
Limped to garage fitted new battery and all codes vanished ... yep faulty battery but check alternator is charging as well
