Default Ball joints

Hi,

How many bolts are used to secure the bottom ball joint to the hub. I thought it was just 2 bolts, but the picture on partsforvolvosonline shows 3 bolts ? http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/...oducts_id=3223

If it is 3, does the 3rd secure downward from the hub - and does the driveshaft therefore have to be removed ?

Thanks,
Tim.

Hi,

Just ordered one of them and the third bolt is the driveshaft bolt. You need to use a new one and yes you do need to remove the driveshaft from the hub. If not you run a strong chance of pulling the CV joint to bits!

Thanks Bob. Finally did the job a couple of weeks back. As you say it is indeed a new driveshaft bolt.
