Rear Seat Release Jammed
Hi
I hope someone can help me. The "leaver" that releases the back of the rear seat is not working on the off side. I think that something has uncoupled? The other side works fine but I could do with putting both seat backs down enabling me to benifit from the huge luggage space. Any ideas on how to dismantle the seat to view and repair the problem. :-(

Hi Mark
Mine does the same thing on the offside seat which from memory is the double one. I find that by pulling on the little pop out button as the main part is pushed and gently wiggling the seat it seems to work every time. I cant imagine what is causing it not to releae but I bet finding out would be both costly and time consuming - so its probably not going to get done. Cheers Martin

My rear seat catch failed recently. I removed the plastic cover that sits over the end and found that one of the flats on the slide had snapped. I expected trouble, but the local dealer ordered just the slide and it all cost about six pounds. Excellent service and it just clips in to the cover.
To release it you need to locate the top of the black lever and push it back. Beware - if you take the seat back off, disconnect the battery for some time before you unplug the SRS coupling. If you don't, the SRS light comes up and you can't reset it. Hope this helps |
