i Rang a honest Volvo dealer instead of Riverside in Doncaster.
They told me ill be looking at £260 including fitting
so thats a saving of £100 over Dodgy Doncasters main dealer.
So at 8am i have my car booked in at John Darte in Lincoln.

Honest dealer? John Darke? Well, each to there own but they are the very dealer at the heart of my thread in general discussion "Service History - what's it worth"

They told the previous owner of my car that his ETM was failing and he was better off trading his car in. Turns out to be the PCV was totally blocked forcing the oil through the ETM via the air intake. No matter how often it was cleaned the problem would return. One PCV change later and the car is fine!

The service sheets are full of things that are supposed to have been done and haven't, because they can't be easily seen. I know you taken it by now but you'd have been better off looking at it yourself, and seeing if it was full of oil residue.

took it this morning and its now amazingly great again.
they were very pleasant to deal with and i will be using them again for jobs that i cant be bothered to do myself.
the pcv is not blocked
and to be honest this whole bill could have been avoided as i have a perfect set of carbon tracks to fit to a ETM but thought id go the easy route
and the cheap route

After taking a look at the location of the ETM on an S60 2.0T this is not such an easy 20 min task. Any suggestions as to getting access without taking half the engine out?

I think that you have to remove the radiator cooling fan?
