I have just ordered a NEW set now for my S60 2005 onward from a place in France called piecesauto-tuning.com and they were by far the cheapest. €340.94 for both (170.47 each) continental front headlights and €39.55 for shipping to Portugal from France.

Just in case it helps anyone in the future.

Morning,

Did you ever manage to source any LHD headlamps for your XC60 as I think we have a set we may be able to supply at an attractive price.

Regards

Try eBay-I picked up a set of LHD lights for £130 for both, 30 second job to swop over each unit-v easy. Soldier based in Germany was selling them-he'd no bids after 10 days so it's a buyers market if you can wait a few weeks for a pair to show up - good luck

Hi,

I am currently living in Germany and would like to bring over an English XC60 and swap it over on to German plates etc.

Please can somebody tell me what I need to change to pass the german TUV (MOT) Obviously the headlights, but do I also need to swap the instrument panel in order to display kph instead of mph?

Also, is it possible to just electronically switch xeons to satisfy the TUV?

Any help would be great.

Thanks

You just need to bring the car over and register with the GE authorities. It is a pan european spec car - there should be no problem. The age of the car may affect any TUV testing. If the car is less than 3 years old in the UK, there is no testing. Best idea is to get in touch direct.

I have been driving RHD cars in Germany for 10 years and you do not need to change the instrument display panels. The XC60 is capable of displaying KM/hr.

If you are looking for Xenons, they are a bit more expensive. I have a set of Active Bi Xenons that I will be selling in July (selling my car). I am located in Bielefeld, Germany. PM me direct if interested.

Thanks for he response slickfingers. Is it possible just to switch the xeons over from uk to European using the service tool etc or do you have to replace the whole unit.

What car are you selling in July if you don't mind me asking.

I would of pm you but I don't seem to have the option available....

Fabian,

I am selling a RHD Volvo XC60 R Design Geartronic. See my post of a couple of days ago. Lovely car with lots of options.

As far as I am aware it is now against the law to reside in Germany without having continental lights fitted. The law changed about 3 years ago. We are not allowed to register our new cars in Germany without having a lights test.
