Default Is this the correct exhaust?

My cars centre exhaust has a hole resulting in a lot more noise and it's the centre box. Was wondering if this is the right part?

According to eurocarparts it is a centre section that fits a Volvo S40 2002.

The diagram isn't a true likeness of the actual exhaust, but will be a generic diagram to illustrate what you are buying. The centre section goes from the Cat to the joint over the rear suspension where the back box joins up.

Doesn't the exhaust depend on the engine?

Yes, it does depend on the engine. Assuming the OP engine is either a 1.6, 1,8 or 2,0lt non turbo, non GDi and petrol it will fit.

Thats a lot of money for a middle box. Mine has a hole in it too (a big one resulting in the exhaust basically being straight through).

There is a new gadget out there which is basically a metal wrapper. It means you can wrap it around the hole and temporarily fix the problem. I suspect this wouldnt pass an MOT though, even with the amendment.
