V60 D5 MY14 radiator change advice
So after much deliberation I took the plunge and changed my radiator over the weekend. Armed with the VIDA instructions and info from several posts I felt well armed to attempt the job. I began stripping parts as per the manual and quickly found you need to remove the AC condenser pipework. Not willing to give in, I persevered by removing the bumper and front impact bar. Keeping all the bolts in a methodical order, labelled with notes alongside pictures of each step helped with the task in hand.
The intercooler pipework was tricky as the Volvo jubilee clips are fitted with anti drop teeth clamps. The bolts and captive nuts securing the intercooler had corroded which made it interesting, however the trusty Dremel came to the rescue. All in all if you have the time, patience and don’t wish to pay a dealer it’s 3.5 out of 5. I was planning to create a sticky thread, but for the moment Im happy to offer advice via PM or this thread. FYI the radiator is made by Valeo. Far cheaper then Volvo for the same part. I used Volvo coolant and can report all is well.
