So its been into the garage this morning and they say the dpf is completely clogged and as a result is ruined. They say this is the cause of the smoke as its all the crud burning out when it gets hot and have therefore elected to fit a brand new dpf with pressure sensor. However, like Zebster I can't help feeling the smoke is something more serious and thats why the dpf is getting clogged to begin with, but having not known if its just been a city runabout until now and that's whats causing it we are yet to see. I guess they're the experts. Fingers crossed, will keep you updated! |

So a quick update on this, car is back with a brand new dpf and sensor. So far so good! Not a hint of smoke when cold or hot. The oil level had however risen and the warning messege came on to tell me (not sure why), but drained a bit out so its back on 3/4 and all has been well since, not used or gained any. Now to enjoy the car! Thanks for all the suggestions.

I'm having the exact same symptoms, although more a grey/blue smoke that smells very bad. It happens after overrun, and setting off after sitting idle in traffic. Don't fancy having to replace the DPF.... Had two regens in two weeks. Car appears to be behaving itself on the soot filter full/Limp mode for the moment, although its only been 5 days since the regen. Still smoking so I imagine its only a matter of time before it happens again. Cheers Si |
