My Key - what can I do with it ?
Can I store something useful against it ? - manual seems to suggest some items that I can't imagine ever needing to get at quickly ! - am I missing something ?
( I would quite like to store USB on it if I can ) .. Thanks |

no you cant store anything on it .. What they mean is that the remote is remembered by the car and relates electric seat and mirror settings to that particular fob , it doesnt store anything in the key , it is just that the car remembers the particular identity of that key ..

Sorry clan - maybe I used the wrong name. I know what you mean with the keys - had that on my audi for seat / mirror / aircon memory. What I mean is the button on the radio that is labelled "My Key" - the manual isn't that helpful , or maybe I am misunderstanding what I can do with it. Any ideas ?

Ahh i see ! Yes its a customisable button for the audio system , you can program your favourite or most used command on that key ... The manual should explain?

No - the manual says ....
My own shortcut button – MY KEY Use MY KEY to store a favourite function in the menu, e.g. TP. Select the function in the menu to be stored by holding MY KEY depressed for more than two seconds. When MY KEY STORED is shown in the display, the function has been stored. Activate the function with a short press on MY KEY. Functions that can be stored with MY KEY Random DISCTEXT TP News Radio text SEARCH PTY AF REG Surround I was hoping I could store something like the "By Artist" menu from under USB menu ....(to save me going in through the menus ) ...but the above list of options seems (aside from Random) totally pointless .... |

I use mine for the Traffic Announcement function. I can then control it rather than have to wait for the station to switch off it's TA signal.

Annoying that isnt it when they wait until half way through the next song to turn it off , however all you have to do is press the EXIT button to revert to the station you were listening to ...

I got so fed up with having to keep adding and removing the TA function that I decided to shortcut it with MyKey. I prefer it this way as I can then decide when to switch on the TA function too as I only really use it for motorway driving. Doing it via the menu system is a bit long-winded. |
