Default No Mirror Memory

The Drivers side mirror on my 05 163 D5 has never had the memory function working on RH mirror. Vida diagnosis points towards an open circuit. I've had the motor assembly out of the mirror and given the terminals a clean up, still no joy. Looking to get a second hand mirror to try. So a mirror with power fold, puddle light, memory, but without Bliss have a 11 or 13 wire connector ?

You may find this useful.

I would have thought that the memory function not working is would not be down to the mirror itself, but may be worth a try. In any case you can resell on the bay and it is not as if we have better things to do!

Cheers

Open circuit in what?
The mirror drive motors?
Or the X-Y sensors?
Or what?

Is the mirror driving X and Y?
Did you run through all the tests in Vida?
What are the results?

Vida showed this
831: DDM/PDM-0032 Door mirror potentiometer. Faulty signal

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) DDM/PDM-0032 is stored if the control module registers that the signal across the potentiometer for door mirror Y axis control (up and down) is too high.

Substitute value

◾None.

Possible source

◾Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.

◾Open-circuit in the signal cable.

◾Short-circuit to ground in the power cable.

◾Open-circuit in the ground lead.

◾Short-circuit to supply voltage in the ground lead.

Fault symptom[s]

◾The door mirror memory function is not working.

The adjustment works fine
Not sure how to do a test on it

Well the first step is to check the wiring is OK, no corroded connectors exist, and then step two is to replace the X-Y sensors.
They are very simple to replace.
And being a moving part, the first suspect for any fault such as what you are experiencing.

If the motor works (manual adjustment possible) but memory does not, it is the x y sensor that is faulty

In the wing mirror housing.
Unclip the glass and then you are looking at the X Y sensor.
Its approx a 4cm diameter round black plastic lump, measuring X and Y movement
