you might be interested to know that when the car was launched the volvo press cars had over 6000 roof operations on one car they measured at one show weekend with no problems . ( there is a counter in the ECU )

Default PDF wiring diagram

Hi folks
I have purchased an 02 C70 rag top, the roof did work, now doesn't and I notice a ref to a PDF wiring diagram. Would anyone know, have or point me in the right direction for it please.

TIA
Glenn

you will need to read the fault codes first and see which sensor is giving a false reading and then how to locate it ... the odds of it being one of the 17 sensors is very slim , It is likely to be the wire broken that feeds the particular sensor , it can break on the left side where the loom flexes as the roof folds up .
This is a very complex but reliable device , it needs a lot of understanding to work out what's going on , but the fault code is a good lead ..

The posters '02 will be the Mk1 soft top. That's a far more complex and failure prone set of mechanisms than the hard top in the Mk2. The PDF discussed here won't help you, try posting in the relevant section for that model:

Default C70 roof failure service required

[QUOTE=Baxlin;2534452]

Hi Baxlin,

I am experiencing the same issue as you with the "yellow button".

You wrote the following:

The message 'roof failure service required' comes up, but once the roof has finally decided to close, the message can be deleted with the reset button, and the roof works fine unless/until the yellow button is pressed.

Can you tell me which is the reset button and how to use it?

Many Thanks

David
