Default For Sale: 2004 XC90 D5 SE black (midlands)

My 2004 XC90 D5 SE Geartronic is now for sale. I've had this for over 5 years, running it as our family car. Here's the details (written for a general audience rather than Volvo experts).

The car colour is Sapphire black metallic, with black interior. It has all the SE trim usual details over the S:
• Drivers electric seat with memory
• Leather upholstery on all 7 seats
• 18 inch Atlantis alloys
• 6 CD changer
• Wood trim

This car also has the Winter pack:
• Heated front seats
• Headlamp cleaner
• Rugged rubber floor mats

On top of that, the options chosen:
• Rear set audio headphone sockets
• Load bag holder
• Wood / leather steering wheel

And of course the standard XC90 has is has plenty of equipment, for example
• Load cover
• Electric mirrors and windows
• 7 seats
• Rear parking sensors
and many more, there's a downloadable brochure that has the rest for that year. It has 2 keys.

The car has done 229,000 miles, with only 30,000 in the last 5 years. In that time it has been serviced by a Volvo specialist (Romar Service Centre) and other garages. There are service stamps going back for pretty much the entire life (inc cambelt), and some documentation for what was done before my time. I've kept records of all the work I've had done. This includes:
• Brake discs and pads
• Abs sensor and suspension, lower link arms
• Both CV joints front
• Front tyres Michelin Cross Country about 25,000 miles ago (rears are Pirelli Scorpion)
• Coil spring
• Turbo intercooler
• Wheel bearings on front, and passenger rear
• Battery

Condition
With the decent mileage the interior is looking pretty good compared to others of similar miles and age. The black leather doesn't really show bad wear, driver has some leather cracking (but better than my other cars at half the mileage), all passenger seats very good, with stitching intact and no tears. Third row two seats look like they've had almost no wear. There's some headlining that's coming loose. All trim present and functional, apart from one small panel on rear door. Aircon, radio, cruise, driver seat controls etc all work fine.
Externally there are the usual marks for the miles, but no real standouts. A couple of small scuffs on the bumper, and rear left door, some small ones on the other doors. One mudflap came off recently, I've the clips to put it on waiting to go on.
Drivetrain works a fine, fuel economy around 35mpg.

Being of a certain age, there are some electronic items that don't work well. The CD multi changer intermittently doesn't eject, so we've been using a bluetooth to FM transmitter for audio. The dashboard temperature gauge sometimes decides it is -38C then come back to normal - it doesn't affect the climate control as it for info only. The instrument cluster clock runs fast. Front 12v socket doesn't work well, but the boot one does. Passenger heated seat doesn't heat, and the rear parking sensor stops working if it has been raining. There's an occasional dashboard message about the alarm battery needing service.

It has had a new OSF lower suspension arm and OSF bottom ball joint, and rear parking brake shoes. There are dashboard messages are about the parking sensor, alarm, and service required. It will require a service, and new rear brake discs and pads, these are now end of life.

MOT expires on the 9th Oct 2024. Car is near Ashby de la Zouch. I've priced at £1000, lots of adverts for undrivable examples for far more!

Edit: To add to the info above, I'm the 3rd owner.

Hey dude. I'm after an XC90, and this looks like just what I'm after! Can I come and take a butcher's at the weekend? I'll even bring the wife with me, as long as she behaves.

I tried to send a PM but got the note that I'm below the threshold, which is a surprise since I've been on here years (but not posting). Yes you're welcome to come and view at the weekend. I've created a Gumtree ad over at https://www.gumtree.com/p/volvo/2004...nds/1480078189 - if you've an account there get in touch. Alternatively email quadrupolic-volvoforum@yahoo.com and we can go through details.

Now SOLD, thanks to all forum members. This was my 3rd Volvo, and I'm sure it won't be my last.
