Got it yesterday,
1.4.2 gives Apple Carplay ! wireless - you have to repair your phone and wait for it allow you to connect carplay through the bluetooth, takes a few minutes. Tried it for a few minutes and seems to work ok, will practice over the next few days as never used carplay before, also so used to built in system might not need it Some other changes to screen, when you get in first it has a welcome screen (like the first car settings screen) so you can change settings without having to press another icon first. Waze is also back, it seemed to stop working on the update to 1.4 (when driving the map switched off but the system stayed on in the background) but its also back working fully now as well. which is very good news. My biggest wish still has not appeared, rear defrost button should be on home screen (i think instead of front screen as there is a physical button for that) i know you can tell it to turn on by voice, but an icon would so simple. |

Installed it earlier. All seems good so far. It seems to remember the following distance for the cruise now and not default every time to long so that is a definite improvement.
I see what you mean about defaulting to the car screen on start up. For me though, this is not an improvement. I always turn off driver alert which is on this screen. It is greyed out, until the car is in D, only then can it be turned off. And as soon as I put it in D, the screen disappears! So I then press the car icon again to get back to the screen to turn it off. I think they haven't thought that one through. Other than that can't see much more different. Hopefully it might fix the Night/Day issue I have with the screen display.

Nice one.
Had not spotted the change for distance, have got used to it always being long now. I think the driver alert is brilliant, and it really works, after a long day in work heading home it always picks up on the tiredness, find it handy as a reminder. The way it spots a yawn is amazing. Have tried the Apple carplay a few times and its not for me bit of a faff to connect waiting for phone and car to speak to each other, the car itself does all I want. phone, answer text by voice, radioplayer, spotify, Nav, Waze, stream over bluetooth. (Don't get many calls and texts anyway so not a big deal) Its nearly the perfect car now, My two wish lists are the rear defrost button instead of the front defrost on the screen and every now and again my phone won't connect for bluetooth and on that, when I go to listen to bluetooth media (have a podcast playlist I create every week that I listen to in either car or on earphones got used to this with the ipod classic)you have to select from the phone the media, it does not pick up the last listened media. Hopefully your light/dark issue is resolved. |
