If you don't the brake lights >come on and the car stops. If your driving and get car jacked >the system senses the door has been opened and you again have >x seconds to enter the code otherwise the brake lights come on >and the car stops. Neat. RE: What Alarm/Security?
Got to admit it is a safer anti-hijacking kit than the previous one designed in South Africa. That one actually blasted flames out of the side of the car and toasted the potential hi-jacker.
About a year or so an acquaitence in South Africa was shot dead because he never got out of the car quick enough for the hi-jacker. Another friend of mine also in South Africa was involved in a gun battle with some hi-jackers when they tried to hi-jacks his friend's car. This new kit obviously is beneficial to the driver who can get out of the car withour causing any alarm to the hi-jacker because the driver knows the car is going to come to a stop within less than a mile and probably on a busy road and the hi-jacker is then going to abandon the car. |

RE: What Alarm/Security?
Sorry, not sure - I have to do some investigation when the time comes. I'd try a good car alarm specialist though - they should have some idea...

RE: What Alarm/Security?
These top notch alarms are all very well and fine but at the end of the day if a gang wants your car they will get it. There isn't much to stop them picking it up and dropping it onto the back of a low loader where they can then take it somewhere under cover and work to find the alarm. OK so an anti tilt device may activate the alarm but that doesn't stop them driving off with it on the back of their wagon. That is, if they want your car bad enough. Things like this happen when cars are stolen to order.
If you are really worried about not seeing your car again the safest option is still a tracker. OK, so it is still not foolproof. If someone manages to get your car out of the country before it is found then Tracker is pretty useless. Having said that though, they do operate in France now too. Also, it is theoretically possible for a theif to find and remove the tracker but seeing as they do not know it is even fitted to the car, let alone where, the chances of this are slim. Tracker have something like a 95% success rate in recovering stolen vehicles. It also helps catch the theives because they are often caught red handed. |

krooklock
Hi there,
Krooklocks are no good or chains unless you go around the wheel rim a couple of times each side of a rim to wheel centre rib. Also with a krooklock because they go around the brake pedal you can just stand on the pedal and bend the wheel enough to remove it especially if the pedal is a bit long. Even then the tealeafs will cut through the wheel rim, they are only about 1/4 thick mild steel rod under the foam and you can cut them in seconds with a hacksaw. The best is the Disklok which is the complete cover for the wheel and airbag and is reputed to last attacks fo 14 minutes. The only trouble with them is storing the damn things when they are'nt on the wheel and they damage the steering wheel a bit. |

RE: What Alarm/Security?
Why not have both? Even if they do nick your car at least that way you have the satisfaction knowing that you caused them a headache.
Cheers, Ian |
