Default Collecting new S90

Hi folks

I collect my new S90 D4 Momentum with winter pack in mussel blue with blond interior soon - next Tuesday (29th).

Can anybody please confirm the details of the handover?

What should I be given?
What should be explained to me?
What paperwork should be presented?

Looking forward to it very much.

Thanks, David

A thorough handover of all the infotainment systems (BMW were particularly good at this).

Yes, a good dealer will usually spend a good 1 - 2 hours going through everything with you.

David
Depending upon you level of tech knowledge, will want the dealer to help set up the below:
1. Pairing your phone to the car via Bluetooth.
2. Setting up/checking VOC - download the App to your phone in advance.
3. Setting up the in-car modem if your spec has one.
4. Setting up basic functionality including a user profile for your key.

Then you will be ready for the open road.

I presume you have already downloaded the manual and read it a few times, try putting it under your pillow as it absorbs into the grey matter faster that way....

Personally, I'd digest the manual as bedtime reading. Through circumstance I only gave myself half an hour to pick my car up - I had to be elsewhere, so I restricted the handover to getting VOC set up, and allowed the dealer to get away without a detailed handover.

If you read the manual, it's all there anyway.

Thanks so far.

With my Skodas I was given a litre of oil, first aid kit and umbrella.

Should I expect anything from my dealer or is it dealer dependant?

I'll hope for a full and detailed handover especially regarding VOC - want to witness it working.

Paperwork wise, proof of PDI?

Is there anything (other then the obvious check on its condition) that I can make / should make?

Transportation blocks? Marks from the wrappers?

Thanks in advance

Freebies will be dealer-dependent; I wouldn't actually expect anything, but we got a couple of bottles of rather nice wine when we collected our ex-demo XC60.

Handovers will also be dealer dependent and a decent dealer should ask how much information you want/need and should be prepared to spend as long as it takes. The dealer should set up VOC as part of the handover and should be demonstrated.

As for paperwork, I always ask for a copy of the PDI. They always have everything ticked off but it's useful to confirm what has been checked (or not in the case of my V40, which had tyre pressures all over the place on collection).

Before signing anything have a VERY good look at the car. Take your time and don't be rushed by the salesman. Check that the car is as ordered, including all options - mistakes do happen with ordering. Check panel gaps are close and consistent. Check for any marks or scuffs - there should be none. Finally check the paintwork.

Hope the car is perfect and the handover goes well. Please let us know, and post some photos.
