You should be ok, although it's all down to the offset of the new rims, some careful arch lip modifications may need to be made, I had to do mine, although I'm running 205 50 tyres, the small 10mm headed bolts (X2) had to be removed from the arch trim at the bottom on mine as well, I've got mitsubishi galant wheels which are 7.5 X 17, et42, although mine are now et37 as I'm running 5mm spacers, they sat a tad close to the rear suspension arms for my liking as they were, plus it used to scrub on full lock, but that may be down to the taller tyres, plus I'm lower than standard as on h and r -60mm springs.

I put 17 inch Arcadia wheels on my V40 and had to roll the rear arches up to stop scraping.

You'd hear a loud scrape over bumps if they were touching anything in the arches so it sounds like they are fine. Clicking noise at the front could be a CV joint but hopefully not. I think if it was, the noise would have been there before.
