XC60 reliabilty?
Hi all , new here
Im hoping you can all help. I am considering a Volvo XC60 , i have got down to three cars that suit my persnal needs and my practical needs , the Kia sorento, Volvo XC60 and the mercedes GLC. All three suit my needs , all three i can afford to buy outright and there running and maintance costs , i love the exterior and interior of all three. I have took short and long test drive of all Three and am still stuck. I joined as the only thing i dont know yet is how reliable each is and what issues if any either car has. So im hoping you can tell me how reliable the XC60 is ( im talking about newer models as mine would be a brand new car) and what issues the Xc60will have if any? I will only be keeping it in warrenty as i never keep a car out of warrenty. So once the warrenty has come to an end swapping for a new model. Im wanting to stay with the same brand so if i do pick the XC60 i would be staying with Volvo in the future for example. Looking forward to hearing from you all. |

Mine is an XC60 R Design Pro D5, 12 months old 8000 miles on the clock. Only issue was a replaced powerpulse hose replaced on 1st service under warranty. No other issues very pleased with the car.

Sure I love my Volvos and have had a whole number of them, but.....
If you love the Kia just as much as the other 2, then surely the 7 year warranty will make it a no brainer for you? Buy the Kia, keep it for 7 years. It will almost certainly be more reliable than either the Volvo or the Merc and keeping it for 7 years over keeping the other two for just 3 will mean it reduces your cost of ownership right down. As for me, I love my Volvo far more than anything from Kia, so will replace this one with another Volvo, but horses for courses....

Thank you for your replys.
The kia warrenty is 7yrs or 100k miles which ever comes first i would have reached the 100k by 5yrs but yet owning the car for even 5yrs is better than just 3yrs. My hubby told me to go for the Kia as he said it will be tje most reliable. The least being the merc. Hes a mechanic and hes always repairing mercs, audis, BMW, land rovers . |

my thoughts are that they are all good cars, it really comes down to what you feel comfortable in and driving.
I came to Volvo from many years with Landrover, and still happy with my XC60. Comfortable, economical, and I enjoy driving it, which is the most important factor. Iain ps the XC60 is not a "driver's car" but a comfortable cruiser.

You got kids? The Volvo is definitely the safest place to put them.

No i dont have any kids but i do have a HUGE saint bernard.
Being one of the safest cars was one of the reasons i am considering the XC60 . Safety (volvo) vs reliability (kia) ? Its a tough choice. |

The Kia Sorrento is a much larger vehicle than the other two? Surely on a par with the XC90?.
I would opt for the Kia, having driven one in the USA last year I was very impressed. |

Thinking about things i dont really know why i am even considering the merc as the boot does not have enough space for my dog and its unreliable and has a lot of issues.
Volvo xc60 its the safety thats stopping me saying no. But the Sorento has more space for my dog in the boot as hes a HUGE bernard. And it has air con near tje boot which will come in handy on hot days. |
