Default Whining noise.

Car had developed a whining noise on motorways..suspect it's the cv/ driveshafts or wheel bearings.. Anyone know where to start for confirmation of the fault...

There is no vibration issue but the noise is there above 40/50 mph.. rises and falls with car speed..can't be heard below 30..

Or am I just going mad..?

All replies welcome..

I would suspect its a wheel bearing.

Simple test, get up to the speed so the cats whining, then steer to the left and then to the right to see if it’s a right or left wheel bearing. V50 wheel bearings fail and lifting the weight off the bearing will prove this.
