Default S80 D5 Speedo shows 10mph even with engine off

Setting off from the lights my Speedo and rev counter stoped at 10mph, going up the M1 it’s stayed there and even turning the engine off does nothing! Cruise control still works fine so the car knows how fast it’s going but won’t show me ;p

DIM has the usual fault, time for repair- spokulozic (or similar) on here has a good reputation and quick turn around.

Let me guess, is it a 2001-2003 ? See above. Do disconnect the car battery when the thing is out for repair.

Yes.
1. Disconnect the battery
2. Remove the DIM and send for repair
3. Reinstall DIM when you get it back
4. Reconnect battery

For the entire time period the DIM is out of the car, do NOT reconnect the battery.
Otherwise you will have a big stack of faults to clear....

Unless you have access to Vida - not just any code reader - to clear the SRS code and permanent light. If you have Vida, no worries, you can even drive without the DIM. Not very legal though.

I drove with an inop DIM for almost 6 months until I got off my lazy arse and fixed it. There are some smartphone apps out there that make for a decent replacement. Just have to keep track of when you fill up your tank!
