Reconnected said poppers and the set has exploded with stations! It's a miracle I was getting any signal at all
I suspect vehicle has been like this since new and may be Old Steve's solution too.
Many thanks Clan man-I can now listen to Jeremy Vine uninterrupted!
Glad your sorted Steve, I'll be checking mine out ASAP (if I ever get the chance to get near it!). "Sounds" (pun) like a winner Clan, thanks!

Hey thanks Clan, your diagnostic was spot on!
Only the LH side stud fastener not connected in my case. Full functionality and channel choice available now.

My doubts about Volvo quality control may have been misguided, this could have been self inflicted. I ordered a set of Volvo window blinds with the car and fitted them myself when I collected it and could dislodged the connector in the process.

So for C30 owners, it's something worth noting when fitting blinds and or cleaning the windows. There is a small cutout in the headlining above the centre of the rear side windows the small pop fasteners are located there and can possibly be dislodged..

Thanks again Clan

just bought 18 month old c30 , 2 days ago.. radio keeps losing signal every 20 seconds , have tried to locate these studs . are they under the cutout near the clothes hanger , do you need to pull the headlining down to access the studs ? any help would be appreciated...

I have reception problems in my V50, is this similar to check as the C30s? Many thanks

Hi All

I am having the same radio problems as described in this thread.
I have checked the aerial connections on the rear windows which are fine.
However the car has been serviced a couple of days ago including pollen filter replacement.
So I thought I might have a loose connection adjacent to the filter location as described by Unreal Master Tech in his comment................

I have pulled the carpet back in passenger footwell and dropped the white fuse panel but cannot find anything obviously loose.

Can someone please point out the colour of the connector and its exact location?

regards
Derek

RESOLVED! Pulled the carpet back further and found a non standard Alpine box of tricks which the technician had put plugged 2 loose coax cables back into - a signal in and out - I tried them the other way around, still the same, unplugged them altogether, radio now working!
Will work out how to remove the Alpine unit altogether at some point.
