Thumbs down XC60 - Autopark

So, I was showing off the new car on Sunday, and attempted an "Park In" Auto park manoeuvre - not something I was particularity bothered about to be honest - it came as part of the Xenium pack.

As we began to turn in, the car in front started up & pulled away.
The Park In process "lost it", reversed too fast, mounting the pavement with the nearside wheel, quite close to a passer by (relatively speaking) before I braked and killed the process.

Will have to retry this on a quiet road at another time.
Not quite as impressive as I'd hoped...!

Park assist pilot only controls the steering - not the accelerator/brake..

You maintain control of the accelerator, brakes and gears, self park only applies the steering.
To be honest its more bother than its worth and if you have 360 camera and front and rear parking sensors its easier to park yourself.

Ah - the age old problem between pedals and seat!

The 360 cameras are amazing, and I don't need the Park in, just wanted to try it out for show...

Exactly, I have it, it only controls the steering, you control the accelerator and brakes and obviously the D-R changes.

I tried it to reverse into my drive. It wanted to reverse into my Golf. Not bothering again. Waste of time.

I find mine works quite well in reverse parallel parking style, but it doesn’t like white cars. As in it always tries to drive into them....

Demonstrated to the dealer a while ago, and we came up with the solution. Avoid white cars.
