Default Clunk when reversing up an incline

Hello everyone

I was hoping someone might be able to help me. I have a 2005 XC70 with 107K on the clock. I've developed a clunk when reversing but only if I reverse up an incline like a sloped driveway. On the flat no noise at all. I suspect its an engine or gearbox mount. Any suggestions or pointers greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Peter

I suspect it's an engine or gearbox mount

Have a look at the front lower engine torque mount, and replace if worn

It might also be worth checking the play in the drive shafts, in yours, both front and rear.
I replaced them my V70's recently and the clunk of the last couple of years has gone.
