I am looking into how to get around this . I can register my car in Ireland if necessary
i will not take part in this farce
In the present I am saving approx £112.00 per month..

This policy is an option and I doubt it will become mandatory in the future..

Which would be in Thomas's case with black box £38 pound per month + 40% rather than £150 per month without black box +40%...!!!

...which may be a good thing and reduce all others insurances perhaps due to less claims and cost for the insurance company...???

Tbh Andy I could see insurers all having the blackbox as an optional policy but still offering fully comp standard policies.

The only problem I see,is that if the insurance companies make money out of black boxes, they may make it compulsory for a lot more drivers. They are in it to make money after all.

Ps I am a Luddite. I don't like anything new. ( sorry )

See what you are saying. It really should be an option though and should imo only be in the 17-24 age bracket.

Actually he COULD. On co-op it's 11pm and you can still drive after that time and it barely affects your rating and I've done it numerous times.

Depends on the insurer though..
