Default '95 850 T5R Manual

found this on ebay, and it looks interesting?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1995-VOLVO...ht_1655wt_1133

Looks mighty tempting - though I need to sell mine first, cash-flow

One question, I'd always known it was possible to change a car from Auto to manual, or vice versa, but is there anything to look out for when buying a car that's been changed?

I went to see that when it was for sale a couple of months ago.

I had always wanted a Gul Yellow car, but it was a bit rough round the edges. Idled at 1500rpm and the low oil light came on when accelerating hard. I also wasn't keen on the grey plastic bits being sprayed.

Looks a lot cleaner in the pics now.

Not really, providing it shifts correctly, no slippage on the clutch etc - just make sure every thing in the engine bay is back in it's rightful place, can't see why it wouldn't be, but always good to check everythings tightened/fixed together correctly, got to dismantle the intake/air filter and a load of hoses to get at the box.

As for idling high, could just do with a damned good service, the throttle bodies/idle control valve probably want cleaning.

Edit: Just read it's modified - he's fitted grooved brakes but I bet they are 280mm, I'd sack the front ones off for 302's with ferodo pads and braided hoses all round with that extra power. Could also be idling high due to **** mapping I guess, but it's tune in a can so I'd be suprised.

and to Merc85,

I can't pm you back, as i don't have enough posts (still a newbie), but i'd seen the small pics of your car in other threads, and thought it look sweet.

i am looking for an estate (pref with an R on it's rear) but i ain't got your asking price.
have just moved house, am self-employed and cash-flow is rotten right now, so i'll probably have not much more than what i get for my '99 saab 9-3 'vert, when or IF it sells!
and they ain't moving quickly at the moment, especially in this weather.
