Default [Rear suspension] Remove ride height control?

Hello,

I need to change my rear shocks, they are dead. On top, the air system for height adjustment is also leaking (loosing pressure in a couple of days).
I looked for height control shocks but I can't find any. I only find nivomat shocks -- sooo expensive, and not sure it fits.
I think I read somwhere that height control shocks can be replaced by traditional shocks + heavy duty springs, did I get it well? My english is not very good ...
Thanks!
