I’m 32 and have recently brought a v50 D5 auto. This followed a gap in car ownership because we went down to one car when a house move ment only a 1/2 mile commute for me. Previously had a Saab 9-3 aero, fast but you could see why they went bust.
My requirements: less than £3000
Space for 2 small dogs and a pushchair
Isofix or the ability to add it easily
5 star ncap
Cruise control
Reasonable power
Not so big the wife refuses to drive it (she hated driving my old Octavia)
Decent seats

So nothing too demanding!

I'm 58 and have a 164, 940 Diesel Estate and a S80D4, I bought the S80 new and with hindsight it would have been nice to have it with a straight 6 petrol which is available in other markets though might not have got the discount.

Also non Volvo have a Triumph TR8 and MG ZR

The difference in quality between the Volvo's and British cars is immense

I'm on the wrong side of 60, and work part time, with some health issues. I'm on my fourth 9 series Volvo, and the present one ('97 LPT) suits my needs fine. Mileage is circa 150k and I'd like to keep the car for maybe five years yet. It's LPG, comfy, RWD, and the devil I know! I use the car a lot, from transporting dogs to playing Bass, and my wife loves it too. It's becoming more difficult to find used parts and expertise, especially with a reducing income, which is where this fantastic forum and it's great members fits in. And nothing better than preventative maintenance, as opposed to firefighting.
I'll hopefully add an MBC soon, just for fun. And a DAB radio. Part of me remembers how life begins around 200 BHP, but I won't be pushing for anything like that. Mine is the same colour as Paul Newman's 5 litre supercharged 960- I'd like to borrow that. A real sleeper. I like it when it snows, and I go round corners sideways. However, there is the pesky ULEZ coming up in 2021. No provision for LPG cars, as usual. With any luck, I'll be out of the London smoke by then, fingers crossed. And, if the technology improves, and some money falls out of the sky, maybe I'll pay to convert the car to electric, just for fun. . .

Tempus fugits, both my car (which has grown on me) and I are two years older since this thread began; otherwise no change!

Has anyone correlated the data?

Regards, John.
