I go to my share of parties being only 21. i was one of the last up most recently so all the beds were taken. i had to sleep in my 850. clear out the boot and fold the rear seats down. i found myself many times thinking "god i wish i had my 360" because that is really comfortable when your drunk lol that's my part for the hatch.

Steve is right of course, I like to be able to carry random stuff often.

Several years ago at a national rally I bought a bonnet and no one believed it would fit. It did, with girlfriend in car.

This years national rally I had camping kit, rear 360 axle, 8 wheels with tyres, a rear door and other bargains on sale, as well as girlfriend. I expect my car to be able to carry *all* of it's own parts of itself around, it's only fair!

Saloon for me of course, just on looks and maybe on stiffness.

Agreed the hatches are more practical, and I too have slept in mine, not that comfortable really though if your 6ft odd, and with a bird.

I didn't think saloons would stand a chance in this but I was clearly wrong it's pretty much 50/50
I know what people say about the hatch is better for carrying objects as it's bigger but the boot on the saloon is still pretty big also the saloons ski flap (not sure if hatch has it) is great for carrying planks etc.
What Chris says about the box rear I think that's part of the appeal of the saloon.

The saloon according to the handbook is 13kg lighter so nothing noticeable.

You had your girlfriend for sale??

Wish I'd been there!!

Lol

For me, it's the hatch, although I appreciate the saloon's rarity and quirkyness, the hatch just looks more balanced, especially in 3 door flavour, plus the practicality.

I've been toying with a 300 for a long time now, ideally a 3 door '60, but in reality that's not going to happen for lots of reasons, mainly SWMBO, money and the fact that I already have 3 Volvos and a Capri... In that order

Steve

Hi all.
I have always had hatches just for the practicality. I have carried furniture, fridges, cookers and all sorts of things in my 300s over the years. However, i have always liked the look of the loons. I only know of one here in N.Ireland and TonyS9 has it
Cheers Mark.
