Default D4 auto remap

Morning all. I am a newbie to this forum and also to Volvo. I have transferred from Skoda Octavia vrs.

I have purchased a V40 r Design Pro D4 auto with most of the options on it too, so spec wise I am happy.

I have been google and a quick search on here but to not much avail remap options.

It would appear Rica do one, and TMS are supposedly a supplier (and they are quite local to me)

Having previously had VAG and been loyal to Revo, I am loathed to go down the route of a 'chip''

Can anyone advise on the most appropriate remap available and who might be best placed to offer this? I am based in Oxfordshire but am happy to travel within reason.

OR

Do i just enjoy the standard D4 (190bhp)

Thanks for your time

Matt

It seems odd to buy a car then immediately want to remap it. Why didn't you just buy a faster car? Save all the concerns about messing something up or wearing the transmission.

If it's a VEA D4 (190) then the power delivery will already be pretty good... in a V40 I would have thought it'd give a sub-7 second 0-62?

You will find that on here it is Volvo's Polestar remap or nothing.

If your car has a Volvo warranty the Polestar remap will not invalidate it, also 3rd party remaps, if you ever go to Volvo for any type of work you have a high chance of the remap being deleted if they update the software. Polestar remains.

But it is an eye watering £745

Reading his profile it's a 2018 car so will be the VEA engine and likely to remain in dealer servicing for a couple of years.... i which case a Polestar map is the best option.

If you have a look on the XC90 forum a user has found his expensive HEICO german re-map has be overwritten by a software upgrade of the ECU as part of a service.

Seem to have a very good reputation in the tuning world. I know you said you'd prefer a re-map but if you are under warranty .... I've used Bluespark boxes on cars for years and they have been superb but they don't do a box for the latest D4 190hp engine., you should see a 10-15% gain on fuel economy too (depending on how you use those extra horses of course!) About to take the plunge on a TDI box for my T3 after reading a number of users reviews.
