Crankshaft sensor bracket
Hey guys,
I'm looking for a crankshaft position sensor bracket for my B230FB which somehow broke. I can't seem to find any for sale. I even called a volvo dealership to try and order an OEM new one but they don't sell them anymore. Do you know any other models then the 200,700 and 900 series that had the exact same bracket? |

I got a new bracket some years ago, but as a temporary measure I made a small curved plate to fit over the bell housing with a hole for the mounting, then hot melt glued it. Surpisingly this lasted quite well, even though the glue would melt.
I expect the bracket is broken at the thin parts around the hole. You could try lumiweld, or epoxy glue reinforced with some steel plate. But to get it out I think the gearbox has to come out. Last edited by TonyS9; Feb 6th, 2019 at 12:17. |

I broke mine trying to use it to lock the crank with a small socket like you can do in the 360 for pulley removal, but the 940 bracket is too weak. I guess it maybe possible to break it while trying to undo if the sensor bolt is well stuck in.
I notice the 850 bracket that Volvo supplied in error is triangular shaped to allow thicker walls at the thin part, so clearly they have seen this problem. |

Is this the part you’re after?
http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts...pulse/1039189/ Having replaced two sensors (B200FT and B230FK) I’ve never really noticed a bracket. It looked to me as though the sensor screwed into a tapped hole in the bell housing, but I must have been mistaken as these brackets are commonly cited as a problem weak spot. |
