Default Diesel mot failures

Can anyone advise please have a v60 D2 with 1600 diesel and failed on 1.56 reading. Does this sound like it needs to be driven harder or DPF.
advice much appreciated no smoke or fault lights on.

I would clean the Mass air flow sensor and look for boost leaks from inter cooling pipework

OK my advice would be..pre supposing the vehicle has been regularly serviced and there is no management light showing...
..
1) buy some Cataclean diesel treatment...
once you have run that thro then
2) fill with decent Shell V power and take car fora run -- at least 40 minutes at differing speeds , flooring it on acceleration thro the gears a couple of times.

stay well away from supermarket crap if you use it in the future.

If you really want to give it a birthday then you can also run an injectior cleabner thro it. Cheaer than loading up a parts cannon
