Default URGENT HELP needed please

Hi all need some help. My car had been having loads of probs recently.
It has that brake failure fault. If its gorgeous weather it works fine. But yest it was wet snowed and damp all day.

Went to start it yest after work and it wouldn't start. Turn key and it would turn engine over but that's it. A couple of times it started but 2 seconds later it stalled try reving it, foot planted on floor. Nothing.

Got breakdown out and all he said was the fuel pump is getting fuel.

So where do I start is this related the brake failure/electrical fault.

The last week about 3 times when about to pull off the car wouldn't rev. But if I kept my foot to the floor after 10secs or so it would rev high then worked fine.
But now it barely starts.

Please help me.
It's a 06 S40 2.0D sport.
Thanks in advance

Clean your throttle body and EGR valve. Search for posts on how to do it or pay a garage, it's not difficult.

tayandre thanks for reply. searched all over the forum for egr removal cleaning etc but found nothing.

i did read on google it was between the manifold and sumat and think i found it.

it was coked up so i cleaned it all but nothing.

when it was all off i unpluged the connectors to the EGR and started the car. it ticked over nicely but as it couldnt find the EGR it wouldnt rev i pluged it back in with the car running and tried revving again after about 20 secs with my foot to the floor its working as normal.

dont no if i cured the problam or just temp fixed it but at least i no what to do next time.

thanks for everyones replys your very helpful.

Nice reply, having a bad day or?

Ging, I don't know what to do but it would seem that tayandre knows and maybe he will get back with a more detailed answer than search!
