Once we've had the meeting today, can someone delete or re-label the threads on the forum as I'm getting really confused as to which meet is which - and from the distribution of posts on both threads I'm not the only one.

Multiple billets sounds very painful!

But seriously, why not have a separate forum for real meets such as billets, rolling road meets, track days, etc., and leave this one for the virtual discussions?

Good idea Simon!! It does seem a little daft to have so many posts running at the head of the forum for so long!!

I understand the importance of having recall info staying up top, but surely the fact that those who could make it to the last and previous meet is of no interest to anyone now!!

Perhaps a formal suggestion to IC would not be amiss. I am sure he would consider it as he is moderator of this section (and does a thoroughly good job at it).

All the best, Peter

I did actually make this suggestion some months ago via the Forum Users Support forum but but Iain was the only one to respond (apart from Bob as moderator). The suggestion was to have a poll, but there wasn't any further interest registered. So I guess nothing further was done. Anyone else got any views?

Rgds,

Hi Simon, I'm presently building a new performance web page which will be linked to or part of the forum where current meets will be listed and various items of interest will be posted. We have a tradition on these fora of leaving posts up for a while simply out of courtesey because we feel that we must not just delete for the sake of deletion - we value peoples' contributions.

We all must remember that the performance section is the best supported section on these fora. There must be a balance of postings -the meets are particularly well supported by people that regularly post - that is where the interest comes from (as well as people that do post and cannot attend meets). Without the real meetings the whole thing becomes static going nowhere - meetings increase interest and bring a real sense of meaning to the section bringing us all together in a real community spirit. We must still have reference to meetings - it takes a tremendous amount of effort to organise events -we don't want the situation to revert to the apathy of the past where people simply lost interest in the whole thing :-( - we must keep the whole section ticking over to remind people what's going on (just look at the thread on the rolling road session - the session has had to be cancelled because of lack of interest - albeit with only a weeks window of a time frame to reply).

This section will continue to develop through real face to face discussion and support and through the written word on the fora - things will change over the next few months - I do value your support so get posting all you enthusiasts :-)

The posts probably shouldn't be deleted but they should be 'un-pinned' so they can drift off the front page. No point keeping old news pinned up at the top, otherwise new topics will be on page two or three shortly ;-)
