If you remove the hose, which is immediately before the turbo, you will see the part number on the hose. The hose is ribbed, with a bend in it and a nipple which connects to a much thinner breather hose which has an electrical connector.
On my car, the ribbed hose (which is the one that goes mushy) is 30636854; the car is a S60 D5 with a D5244T 163bhp engine. (If you are not sure which engine you`ve got, the engine type is on a large white label on the cambelt cover). For this and any other parts, if you ring a Volvo dealer with the reg, they will be able to give you the part number. Or post on here, and someone will help you. |

Strongly suggest you phone/call in at a Volvo dealer, give your reg and explain which part you need. You will get a price and, if you ask for it, the part number. If you want to shop around on the net for a better price, you will at least have the correct part number.
Do you know that your hose is defective, or are you wanting to change it "just in case" ? Do you have particular symptoms? If you are getting the dreaded Engine Service Required, and going into Limp Mode, have a read of the sticky ECM 6805. |

Have you checked the pipe under your engine block, runs accross the sump. The jubilee clip has habit of coming loose at the point where rubber pipe meets plastic.

I have been experiencing the intermittent power loss. I wanted to ask something. A friend of mine told me that since 2000 all diesel cars in the UK have been fitted with an "anti-pollution" filter in the exhaust. This tends to go wrong and it results in the symptoms we are observing, loss of power, with no error codes.
My friend tells me that the part costs like 400 pounds but that some specialist places take it away in favour of a hollow tube, and that testing for whether this filter goes wrong only costs 30 pounds to help you decide if this is the source of your problems. Is this true of our Volvo diesel cars? |
