Default 1800e from Inj to Carb

All, I have a 1800e that was converted to twin carbs from Inj , I have a question with regard to the return fuel line and Fuel Regulator, You will see from the pics that I still have them in place running back to fuel tank - I have a 3psi electrically switches fuel pump at the Back with fuel filter.
Am I right in thinking that I can remove the fuel regulator from the old FI system and return pipe and just have one pipe running from the Pump to the carbs ?
Also will I need to do anything about letting the tank breath ?

Any advice as always much appriciated from any that have done this before
Thanks
Paul

p.s. last picture is return connection to tank - what's easiest way to block that off ?

I'd keep the FPR if i were you, those SUs can be prone to flooding/leaking if too much pressure comes into them. Also along those lines, there are FPRs available with return/spill stubs built in, fitting one of those would enable you to make use of the return line on the tank which would circulate your fuel better. Should be a breather tube on the tank somewhere already and/or a breather built in to the filler cap.

Paul;

You have completely changed the fuel delivery system back to an earlier version, so can essentially and certainly loose the FI FPReg (yes, carbs do not like more than 3PSI, but IF you are getting too much pressure from that pump and needed to regulate it down, you would need to fit a new quality FPReg ...that FI FPReg regulates in the 2BAR range, so it could not be adjusted down to operate at the 3PSI pressure range, so would not be suitable anyway, sorry LS).

I presume with the new FuPu located where the old ones also was, you are reusing the previous feedline, and that's OK, but indeed, FPReg and return line are now superfluous and can be removed, sealing the return off right at the Tank.

As far as Tank venting goes, I don't think you have affected that, so whatever it was previously should remain unchanged. (If your chassis was as configured for the US market with an Evap canister and plumbing, the only change necessary would be to route the Evap Canister output to intake manifold...this is shown on page 2.35, 36 in my '71 E factory Manual under Gas Eva Contr Sys. If your chassis did not come equipped with this sys, then you obviously don't need to be concerned with it at all (please check in Boot for Expansion Tank and in front of Radiator for Carbon Canister and report back with your findings).

Cheers

Ron, Thanks Mine is a UK model and don't have the Evaporators/Carbon Canister
I did look in the boot where filler cap is (can't post pic) and the neck of the filler pipe has a medium pipe and a small pipe going into top of big filler pipe so assume these have something to do with the tank breathing ?
Thanks
Paul

Ron, correct me if i'm wrong but is this not an adjustable FPR suitable for carbs? Looks very different to every EFi FPR i've ever seen/known.

Looks reminscent of the old Malpassi FPRs for carbs but it's a long time since i've seen one of those so the memory might be bit skew-whiff.

Dave, This is a Volvo standard fit for the E, I had the same on my 1800es for injection sometimes mounted where mine is or in the fuel rail - does looked screwed right down. though not sure which way you adjust it ? As my fuel pump sucks unto 3psi near the Tank I would have thought this would be fine for the Carbs alone with out the need for this or the return pipe :-) your right though it is adjustable for the FI system

LS;

Yes this FPReg is adjustable (note the top hexbolt with jamnut which act upon internal spring), but I doubt it is adjustable down to a range for carbs.
