cheers Alex, I bought some FK coilovers while they were on offer. It was too much of a deal to refuse really. All of a sudden I dont mind the standard wheels

@Alex21: Will any speed bumps will take off the mudguards ??
Just fitted my Pre abused Fleabay 50 quid roof side rails. The end caps are held on with black tape (Cracked and kaput clips etc) until the new ones arrive next week. My partner is happy, so I will start looking for a pair of cheap cross bars. Chrome ones if possible! Pre loved Volvo mudguards end of the month!

I don't know to be honest as I don't have them fitted to my car. Are you thinking of lowering yours in the future SkyShip? I would think they would be fine on a standard height car.
I don't know how big your speed bumps get over there but on some of the extreme ones over here on certain roads my exhaust scrapes a bit and the bottom of my splitter can get the odd knock - I actually go over them in zig-zags to avoid any damage now and if there is traffic in the way I hold everyone up and wait till it's clear lol. Back on topic - I think I've found a suitable turbo replacement Last edited by Alex121; Apr 5th, 2014 at 22:42. |

The entrance to the local funny farm has speed bumps, BUT the Germans prefer the chicane game, as it's better for the tyre shops.
My car gets used for fully loaded farm track off roading and it's the pot holes and dips that break the underbody clips. Alas Volvo don't do a raising kit like the Holden used down under. I did lose an exhaust box clip early on. Looking for nice shiny alloy roof cross bars without luck at present. No need for fancy locks, just a semi Chrome shine and real cheap.

Well chuffed today! Finally got ONE of the rear wheels locking nuts removed and what a completely bastard it was!
Firstly tried using the Air Chisel tool on it to try and get it to move... Nope would not move a millimetre like alone an inch! Then had an idea! Used the air chisel on the rotating collar and that pinged off into the depths behind the bolt then fortunately was able to get the lump hammer and after a few whacks had a locking nut remover on and a few turns with the breaker bar and had it off! Woo hoo!!! Hopefully if the weather is not so wet tomorrow I can get the otherside done! then can finally carry on with the car project! |

Done nothing!
First weekend of my holiday and I am choked up with the cold! Not even got dressed today, just hanging around the house feeling sorry for myself. Loading myself with vitamin C, as I don't want to waste my holiday being ill all the time. Gary

Not good start Gary - Hopefully you'll feel better soon.
Just had a look behind the wheel now it's off. Aye aye aye it's doesn't look good behind it! Wheels still spinning with the handbrake on so have to adjust that quickly then at least I can work on the front without fear of it moving. But then it got worse. Looking at the spindle where I took the locking nut off. It looks like the thread could be damaged.... Might have to replace the hub after all now Question now is 2nd hand or brand new! |
