S40 2001 2.0T 165hp doesnt start up quickly
Hello,
I am having problems with starting my car. I need to make the starter motor work for long seconds, to make the engine start up. It happens everytime when I want start the engine after a few, or a longer time of "switched off" state. Once it is started, it works well, and drives the car as it has to. (No problems during driving.) But if i park the car, and switch the engine off for a longer time, the restarting after it becomes difficult again, and have to make the starter motor work for long seconds. It is a 2.0T 165 horsepower petrol engine. I would appreciate any ideas what to check or repair... Thank you! |

Most times, longer cranking times on the petrol models, is because of the FPR Fuel Pressure Regulator
