I have got the RUD chains and they were fantastic in the Italian mountains last week in 1 metre of snow!! However thew XC90 was so good just on winter tyres are only put them on for extra safety. The Italians living in the mountains told me they only need to put the chains on when its ice underneath the snow and I would totally agree with that as I was driving through two foot of powder on standard Nankang winter tyres! The car was simply awesome and get up majorly steep snow covered streets.

Can you just confirm your tyre size and the type of chain. The clearance round the back is very tight so would be interested if you got conventional chains to fit on anything at 19inch or above wheels

They are special chains that fit on the out side rim as clearance is an issue. Tyre size os 235/55 19 inch. Hope that helps.
