If you bought any other product and what was supplied was not what you ordered, then you would send it back.
It seems the only reason for sticking with it is the order length time. Essentially, by only building the cars at such a slow rate, they have built into their system their ability to deliver incorrect goods and force the customer into submission. If they stick it on the forecourt now it’s preregistered, it will inherently have a lower value than what you’ve paid for it. You should be entitled to that difference. There are plenty of things they can offer that don’t cost them 2-3k but offer you such a saving. Service plans, wheel insurance, accessories etc. Why should you accept a poor product just because they are so short-sighted they no longer value customer loyalty. And why should a salesman who cocked up an order still benefit from his commission when he screwed up the most important bit?

What world do you live in, £2-3k of service plan, wheel insurance and accessories??? Don't be ridiculous!

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I'm a lot happier now that I've driven the car quite a bit and to be honest the driftwood has really grown on me. Ironically I was having second thoughts about the chrome after seeing how easy it is to damage (something I, or my kids, would definitely end up doing), so in the end it's probably not as bad as I originally made out.
I was still rather deflated at the time though. Given that I'd already screwed £7k out of them via Carwow there wasn't a great deal of wiggle room in the deal in the end. But that doesn't make my order right I know. On the day they immediately gave me the boot liner and bits I'd enquired about to "Make today's experience a little better" and I had a call from the sales rep yesterday but couldn't take it unfortunately. They immediately followed up via email and will call again tomorrow. I'm thinking Polestar installed FOC will sweeten things sufficiently Once there's a positive outcome I'll name the dealer. |
