My main car is a 2003 V70 D5 ( Euro 3 163bhp manual ) and I have kept a spread sheet to monitor fuel since it was new , the fuel consumption figures were probably one of the main reasons for choosing the car . I am doubtful its possible to improve on what Volvo have done already with this vehicle other than it could have benefited from higher gearing or at least a six speed box which was not available , they rev much higher than for example a 6 speed 1.9 diesel Galaxy in top gear which I find annoying but live with it . I have had some very high mpg figures calculating brim to brim on long journeys but its longer term moving averages that I take notice of rather than individual journeys , the trip average mpg is around 6% optomistic on my car compared to my calculated figures . I believe power increase is possible with one of these devices but I dont believe its possible to improve fuel consumption as well and would expect it to be worse , if wingz123 can provide some convincing evidence on fuel consumption then I will buy one , I am not interested in more power .

They are also available on Ebay (where I got mine) at a much reduced price and the service is spot-on.

Good reviews from these Jaguar boys here

Hi

I have a T4 and wonder how much a chip would cost. i would like better economy in preference to performance, the latter of which is exhilarating.

Thanks

got a CR2 tuning chip box on my Renault laguna (diesel), there's no doubting it improves the drive & adds power / economy....but that's on the common rail engines

putting these chips on a petrol car .... must work differently??

id like to think chucking one onto my T5 would take me to nearly 300bhp & be very cheap while doing it, but in reality there's probably no cheap way around remapping a petrol car
